Cocaine seized from city apartment

STEUBENVILLE — The county drug task force and City Police arrested a city man during a drug raid Thursday evening and seized a large amount of crack cocaine.

The task force reported finding about 60 grams of crack cocaine and two firearms, which were reported stolen, at Apartment 212, 730 N. Seventh St.

Jamar Yetts was charged with two counts of drug trafficking, possession of drugs, receiving stolen property and having a weapon under disability.

Engineer releases work schedule

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County Engineer James Branagan released the work schedule for county highway department crews for next week:

¯ Bridge replacement — County Road 56 will be closed 1.78 miles west of state Route 7 from 7 a.m. on Monday through 3 p.m. on Thursday; Springfield Township Road 278 is closed to through traffic one mile north of state Route 524 through July 31; and Goulds Road (county Road 74).

¯ Slip repair — Bergholz-New Somerset Road (county Road 53) is restricted to one lane with temporary traffic signals.

¯ Chip seal — Pleasant Hill Road (county Road 45); Toronto-Empire Road (county Road 7F); and Sugar Grove Road (county Road 68); and Knox Township Road 243.

¯ Pavement repair — Unionport Road (county Road 39).

Road closings will be announced.
