Steubenville school board approves personnel matters
STEUBENVILLE –The city board of education approved several personnel matters Wednesday night during a brief meeting at the board offices.
The board discussed and authorized:
– The retirement of Harding Middle School special needs teacher Ann Bendle,
– The resignation of Ralph Pierro, a paraprofessional at East Garfield.
– The hiring of Michelle Wood and Shirley Pierro as noncertificated employees.
– Approval of maternity leave for Emily Pearson of Harding Middle School.
– The addition of Jordan Banks and Paul Harbert as substitute teachers for the current school year.
– The employment of Payton Hauck, Arianna Rodgers, Alex Barnhouse, Mykea Person, Mateao Araujo and James Strachan for the Big Red Works program.
In other business, permission was given for YouthWorks to use the shower facilities at Steubenville High School during the annual summer mission to Jefferson County from June 12 to July 27.
The board members unanimously agreed to a contract with Trinity Health System for physical therapy services and a contract with H.E. Neumann for quarterly maintenance.
The board met in executive session to discuss personnel issues.
