STEUBENVILLE — The 23rd-annual Veterans Health Fair will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday on the second floor of the Towers on Market Street.

According to Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission Executive Director Schelley Brooks, the annual health fair will offer services to veterans enrolled with the Pittsburgh Veterans Administration center.

“There will be dietician information, pharmacy information and more information from the VA outpatient office in St. Clairsville as well as the Veterans Center in Wheeling,” said Brooks.

“We will have a women’s veterans clinic along with representatives from Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, My Healthy Veteran and Valley Hospice,” continued Brooks.

She noted 198 military veterans visited the health fair in 2015, and she is hoping to see more veterans this year.

“This is an opportunity for our veterans to meet the people who take care of them and have more information for the veterans. All military veterans are encouraged to take advantage of their benefits and stop by the health fair,” noted Brooks.

“Not only will veterans get a flu shot and information on veterans services, they get the camaraderie of fellow veterans. It is really a joy to sit around and hear their stories. Everyone has a story,” she said.
