‘Smokin’ Out Childhood Cancer’ event set
SCIO — Joyce Brown told those gathered at the recent Harrison County Farm Bureau dinner about the second-annual “Smokin’ Out Childhood Cancer” benefit tractor and truck pull.
She is familiar with all the tests, medical visits, treatments and costs that go with cancer, as she experienced the disease twice in two year.
“The focus of the program is on childhood cancer this year,” Lynette Dauch, said.
Brown is part of the Fall Smoke Out Cancer Benefit Pull scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Cadiz. The cost is $5 to get into the pull.
Dauch and Brown are part of the committee that seeks to aid the American Cancer Society, the local “Pulling for a Cure Fund” and Childhood Cancer Research. They also are members of the Harrison County Farm Bureau, which will be operating the concession stand for the event.
This is the second year for the benefit pull.
Jon Jones is in charge of the tractor part of the event and can be contacted at (740) 391-1246. Jeff Burton is taking care of the truck pull and can be reached at (740) 491-7596.
Entries must have a three-point hitch, working PTO and or working remote hydraulics.
