Literacy celebration
set for Thursday
WEIRTON — The Weirton Area Literacy Council’s annual literacy celebration and GED graduation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Mary H. Weir Public Library.
The free event is open to the public and sponsored by the library, the council and Literacy West Virginia. Reservations should be made by calling (304) 797-8510.
Cross Creek trustees
change meeting time
WINTERSVILLE — The Cross Creek Township trustees have changed the time of their upcoming regular meeting.
The trustees will meet at 4 p.m. Monday at 251 Airport Road.
The meetings usually are held at 7:30 p.m.
Pence to appear
in Leetonia
LEETONIA — Mike Pence, Indiana governor, and Republican vice presidential nominee, will be making an appearance at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Leetonia High School, according to presidential nominee Donald Trump’s website. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m.
Tickets for the rally are free but must be obtained in advance through Trump’s website at www.donaldjtrump.com/schedule/register/leetonia-oh/
High School Principal Troy Radinsky said the district’s decision to host the rally was not an endorsement of the campaign or the candidates.
Wintersville hydrants
to be flushed
WINTERSVILLE — Village crews will be flushing all hydrants from 10 p.m to 6 a.m. Friday through Sunday.
Residents may experience water discoloration and low pressure.
