Birdiee’s Coffery offers coffee, treats

WEIRTON — Birdiee’s Coffery at 206 American Way offers a variety of fresh, locally roasted, coffees, pastries and other treats.

First opened in January, owner Emily “Birdiee” Rose hosted an open house and ribbon cutting recently, with representatives of the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce, city officials and other guests in attendance.

Birdiee’s is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and provides a selection of organic, fresh ground and brewed coffee, which Rose noted is roasted at La Prima Espresso Co. in Pittsburgh.

She also rotates the types of coffee and other items offered, providing differing selections with every visit.

“I try to shake it up every day,” she said, noting customers also can purchase bags of whole bean or ground coffee from the eatery.

Rose explained much of her inspiration comes from her family, in particular her grandmother, and her love of baking.

“It’s something I enjoy doing,” she said.

Birdiee’s offers a breakfast menu, between 6:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., featuring three types of omelet, a breakfast burrito and the Birdiee Breakfast platter. Various cookies, rolls and other pastries also are available for purchase.

On Saturdays Birdiee’s also offers its special pepperoni bread and cinnamon nests.

Several items are available by special order, including mango cheesecake, potato bread, sourdough bread and other types of cookies and pies.

For information, contact Birdiee’s at (724) 622-8024. The business also can be found online at www.birdieescoffery.com.
