CAC board to meet to complete agenda

STEUBENVILLE – The Jefferson County Community Action Council board of trustees met in executive session for nearly 90 minutes Wednesday and plans to meet again next Wednesday to complete this week’s agenda.

The board had just started discussing a Home Energy Assistance Program budget summary when Trustee Mark Ciccarelli called for the executive session “to discuss personnel.”

Following the closed-door session, board Chairman Rich DeLuca said the board will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to complete this week’s board agenda.

DeLuca said the Wednesday meeting will be in open session and noted the board may take action from the executive session.

The board is set to discuss a record retention and destruction policy, the Ohio Means Jobs Satellite Job Center reports and a Workforce Investment Act report.

Also on the agenda for the Wednesday meeting is the chief executive officer evaluation.

The board met twice last month to complete its agenda and to elect new board officers.

The trustees Wednesday approved the formation of four committees but voted down a measure proposed by Ciccarelli to hire an attorney to review the board’s by-laws.

Following the executive session, Ciccarelli asked for a list of all board members and the length of time they have served on the board of trustees.
