Harrison panel tables road-use agreement
CADIZ – The Harrison County commissioners had a light schedule during Wednesday’s meeting.
Doug Crabtree, Harrison County Engineer’s Office business service officer, submitted a Road-Use Management Agreement from American Energy Partners for the third time, and once again the agreement was tabled at the recommendation of Chairman Dale Norris.
Department of Job and Family Services Director Scott Blackburn presented a contract with Harrison County Rural Transit to provide transportation to Medicaid-eligible clients.
“It’s the annual contract we have for our transport service with Rural Transit,” explained Blackburn.
He said the contract was not to exceed $350,000 and was for clients for Medicaid-related visits.
The pact is for non-emergency transportation services, pregnancy-related services transportation and Healthcheck transportation.
The board also approved an agreement for a lease for 31 acres of land in Short Creek Township. The lease with American Energy Partners Utica is for five years, paying $6,000 per acre with 18 percent net royalties. The land is the former rail line between Adena and state Route 9, which the commissioners originally purchased in the 1990s for a bike trail.
Treasurer Vicki Sefsick noted a correction on second half tax bills sent out by the county. The due date of Feb 28 is incorrect. The correct date should be July 23.
