Suspects sought in daytime burglary

WINTERSVILLE – Four males entered the home of an elderly couple Monday afternoon on Morningside Drive looking for guns but only took jewelry and a laptop computer, said Cross Creek Township Police Chief Michael Maguschak.

The men entered the home through the basement around 5:25 p.m., the chief said. The elderly couple were forced onto the floor but not injured, Maguschak said.

Two jewelry boxes and a laptop computer were taken but one of the intruders in a haste to get into a green Chevrolet Cavalier dropped one of the jewelry boxes and the computer, Maguschak said.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification was called to process evidence in the case.
