Man charged in heroin case ordered held without bond

COLUMBUS – A U.S. District Court magistrate on Tuesday ordered that Sean D. “Puff” Loveless, 28, of Steubenville, who was charged in federal court with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, be held without bond.

Loveless was arrested by the FBI last week after a drug raid revealed 330 grams of heroin, more than $10,000 in cash, eight firearms and a bulletproof vest.

Federal search warrants were executed on April 1 at Loveless’ two residences at 113 George St., Mingo Junction, and Rear 233 Ravine St., Steubenville.

During the Steubenville search warrant, law enforcement found 270 grams of heroin on a kitchen counter. Another package of heroin, described as a brick, also was found on the kitchen counter, according to an FBI affidavit. Two handguns were found in the house and six handguns were found in a suitcase in a detached garage, authorities reported. About $5,000 in cash was found on the dining room table, and $3,000 in cash was found in a vehicle, according to the FBI.

At the Mingo Junction home, about 50 grams of heroin, $2,500 in cash and a bulletproof vest were found, the FBI reported.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office reported Loveless’ case will be presented to a federal grand jury within the next month.
