Village field in line for upgrade

WINTERSVILLE – The village’s recreational field soon may be upgraded.

Council applied for money from the Jefferson County commissioners’ recreation program grant during Thursday’s meeting.

According to Mayor Bob Gale, the money would be used to install a restroom at the field behind the municipal building.

“Right now, we have a lot of games down at that field during the spring, summer and fall,” he said. “We decided that this money would be best used to put restroom facilities down there for all of the residents that attend these events.”

Council also discussed enhancing the school zone signs on Fernwood Road.

“We are working with the Ohio Department of Transportation to get enhanced signage by the Jefferson County Christian School,” Gale explained. “We are going to improve what is already there.”
