Toronto Chamber discusses trip
TORONTO – Batter, up!
That’s what the leadership of the Toronto Ohio Chamber of Commerce is hoping chamber members will be hearing during their sponsorship of a bus trip on May 4 to watch a Pittsburgh Pirates game, according to Bill Lucas, chamber president.
The event was discussed during the chamber’s Thursday luncheon meeting at the North River Avenue Christian Church.
“We wanted to do something different this year, so we’re sponsoring this bus trip,” said Lucas, adding the trip to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at PNC Park is something the chamber has never attempted. “The trip is ideally for chamber members, their family and friends. We’re hoping to have enough interest from the membership and their family and friends (to sponsor the trip).”
The game falls on a Sunday, with the opening pitch set for 1:35 p.m., Lucas said. Patrons will leave the parking lot of the Toronto Junior Senior High School at 11:30 a.m., bound for the game, Lucas added.
“The number of tickets is limited to 112,” he said, adding the cost, with tickets, the bus ride, the game, give-a-ways, a Pirates hat and youth T-shirt, comes to $60 per person.
The seats are assigned in the order of payment, Lucas added.
Checks should be made payable to the Toronto Ohio Chamber of Commerce in the correct amount for the number of persons attending. Also, once purchased, there are no refunds, said Lucas.
Checks should be sent to the Toronto Ohio Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 158, Toronto, OH 43964.
