County water customers should get bills soon
WINTERSVILLE – Jefferson County water customers should be getting their bills in the next couple days after the bills were lost for a period by the post office, said Mike Eroshevich, water and sewer department interim director.
Eroshevich said the 8,500 water bills were taken on Feb. 28 to the Steubenville post office and then went to a Pittsburgh mail processing center.
The water and sewer department started receiving calls last week from customers stating their bills had not been received.
Eroshevich said the water and sewer department contacted post office officials, who said the location of the bills wasn’t known.
Eroshevich said the bills now are starting to show up at area post offices for delivery to homes.
The bills are due on March 20. Eroshevich said there are no current plans to extend the due date.
Customers not receiving a bill can contact the water and sewer department at (740) 283-8577 with their account number and the amount of the bill will be given.
Customers also can visit the office at the county services complex on state Route 43, just outside Wintersville.
