Work on Brady Avenue project resumes Friday

STEUBENVILLE – Work on the Brady Avenue-University Boulevard improvement project will continue Friday and Saturday when crews from Shelly and Sands Inc. of Rayland place the asphalt surface.

Work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Friday and continue through Saturday.

Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and single-lane closures, and motorists can expect periods of delay. Drivers are advised to drive slowly through the construction zone and be aware of changes in the traffic pattern.

The project includes resurfacing, installation of curb ramps, installation of a crosswalk at the intersection of University Boulevard and Woodlawn Road, replacement of drainage structures, upgrading of traffic signs and installation of pavement markings.

The total cost of the project is $869,450. It is being funded through a combination of federal money, money from the Ohio Department of Transportation and Public Works Commission as well as the city’s 0.7 percent income tax.

Work is scheduled to be completed later this month.
