City health department sets December schedule
STEUBENVILLE – The city health department will offer free and anonymous HIV testing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 6 by appointment only.
Anyone interested in the testing should call (740) 283-6000, extensions 1503-08, to schedule an appointment.
The health department will offer blood pressure screenings and TB skin testing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays in December.
Health Commissioner Patty Reda said no immunization clinics will be held on Dec. 26. But childhood and adult immunization clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on the other Tuesdays in December.
“A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child and a record of prior immunizations must be provided before the immunizations will be administered. If you are a child’s legal guardian you must present your court ordered documents on the day of service in order for the child to receive vaccinations,” said Reda.
More information about the children’s flu vaccine is available by calling the nursing division at (740) 283-6000, extensions 1506-08.
Reda said the Zostavax, or shingles, shot is available at the health department. Information is available at the nursing division at (740) 283-6000, extensions 1506-07.
“Flu vaccine clinics will be held for adults from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday until the supply is deleted. Please bring your Ohio Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medical Mutual of Ohio and Health America/Health Assurance cards,” said Reda.
