City man allegedly kicked pregnant woman

STEUBENVILLE – Federal authorities say a Steubenville man charged with armed robbery Thursday had allegedly punched and kicked a pregnant woman in the abdomen in Nassau County, N.Y.

Quama Chapman, 713 B Market Square, was taken into custody Thursday on the robbery warrant by the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force and Steubenville Police.

Chapman, 30, allegedly was involved in a domestic dispute with the unidentified female, then eight months pregnant.

According to police, Chapman pulled the woman’s hair and punched and kicked her in the abdomen, then stole her personal belongings.

Also arrested was Markel Wise, charged with obstructing police and a city warrant for failure to appear. Wise allegedly had told officers she didn’t know Chapman and advised the marshals that he was not inside her apartment.

Both Wise and Chapman were taken to the Jefferson County jail, where Chapman awaits extradition to New York.
