Community Night will be special

STEUBENVILLE – Steubenville-Weirton Community Night at PNC Park is always a great event, and a special package being offered to area fans will make the evening even better.

Between Monday and May 24, fans who purchase four tickets for the July 13 game between the Pirates and New York Mets at the regular price will receive four Steubenville-Weirton microfiber Pirates T-shirts for free, organizers have announced. The shirts will be available in limited sizes and quantities while supplies last, and prior purchases are excluded, officials added.

The evening will include optional bus transportation to Pittsburgh, a Roberto Clemente jersey, fireworks, prizes and great seats for the 7:05 p.m. game, according to Cindy Kotsch, community events coordinator for the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times.

Everyone who purchases a ticket to the game through the newspapers will be seated in the all-you-can-eat section of the stadium, Kotsch said. Food in that section will include hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, sodas, peanuts, pretzels, popcorn, ice cream sandwiches and more.

Fireworks will be presented after the game, and prizes, including autographed items and Pirates promotional materials, will be given away between innings, Kotsch explained.

Tickets that include bus transportation are priced at $65 each. Fans who would prefer to find their own transportation can purchase tickets for $55 each, Kotsch explained. All tickets can be charged by phone or are available at the newspaper offices during regular business hours. Call (740) 283-4711 and ask for Dianna Brown to purchase tickets. For information, visit the website of either newspaper, Kotsch explained.

Joining the newspapers in sponsoring the evening are EmMedia, the Health Plan, Trinity Health System, Hancock County Savings Bank, the Fort Steuben Mall, Choice Brands of Ohio, Iron City Distributing and Wine and Beverage Merchants of West Virginia.
