Women receive sentences for acts against neighbors
STEUBENVILLE – Two women were sentenced Monday in Jefferson County Common Pleas Court for acts upon neighbors.
Linda C. Lyons, 30, of 3827 Bristol Ave. was sentenced to six months in the Eastern Ohio Correction Center by Judge David Henderson after Lyons pleaded guilty to arson.
Lyons was arrested by City Police in connection with Lyons lighting a neighbor’s house on fire on Kingston Avenue on Dec. 5.
Lyons poured gasoline on the siding and lit it on fire. She told Henderson she then put out the fire but the victim disputed that during the victim impact statement prior to sentencing. The victim said she used a hose to make sure the fire was out.
The victim said Lyons also attempted to light her front door on fire. The victim said she lives in constant fear of Lyons.
Henderson ordered Lyons to be on probation for 30 months after her release from the Eastern Ohio Correction Center. He also ordered Lyons to make $7,990 in restitution for replacing all the siding on the home so it matches in color.
Also, Billie Pudder, 29, of 1341 Madison Ave., Toronto, was sentenced by Henderson to six months in the Eastern Ohio Correction Center after Pudder pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.
Toronto Police were investigating in October a house that was entered in the 1300 block of Madison Avenue and a TV, electronic gaming equipment and other items were stolen. Police went to Pudder’s home and discovered the items in her room. Officers were able to recover nearly all the items taken.
Henderson ordered Pudder to be on probation for one year after her release from the Eastern Ohio Correction Center.
