Bomb threat received at Catholic Central

STEUBENVILLE – City Police responded this morning to a bomb threat to the Catholic Central High School and Bishop John King Mussio Middle School facility after a hand-written note was discovered on a teacher’s desk in the middle school.

High school Principal Rich Wilinski said the students were evacuated from the high school building to the Bishop John King Mussio Elementary School gymnasium while a search was conducted.

Wilinski said City Police and school staff cleared the building after approximately one hour and the students returned to their classrooms.

Diocesan spokesperson Pat DeFrancis said school officials are cooperating with City Police as the investigation into the threat continues.
