LaBelle neighborhood asked to conserve water
STEUBENVILLE – The city water department is asking all LaBelle Water District customers to conserve water until repairs are completed at the LaBelle main pumping line.
Assistant Water Department Superintendent Bill Skinner estimated the repairs will start at 8 a.m. Wednesday and continue until 4 p.m. and will include the repair or replacement of a leaking main water transmission line elbow at 1575 University Blvd.
“We will restore water service once the repair is completed. The repair is necessary to maintain water to customers in the LaBelle Water District,” explained Skinner.
“The LaBelle Water District includes all water customers in the LaBelle, Pleasant Heights, Lincoln Heights, College Heights including Franciscan University of Steubenville, Bel-Air Terrace, Brady Estates, Manhattan Subdivision, Shirley Circle, Lower Hollywood Estates, Langley Avenue, 1400 through 2217 Sunset Boulevard, 1400 and 1500 blocks of University Boulevard, Brady Avenue, Spring Avenue, Elm Street, Mears Avenue, Terrace Avenue, Ward Place, Main Street, George Street, the 900 and 1000 blocks of West Adams Street,” said Skinner.
“Some water customers may experience reduced water pressure and possible loss of water service until the repair is completed. A boil water advisory may be required after the repairs are completed,” added Skinner.
“We thank all affected water customers for being understanding and patient during this time of inconvenience. And any residents that may have concerns or questions may call the staff at the water filtration plant at (740) 283-6041,” Skinner stated.
