Head Start planning art show

STEUBENVILLE – Children enrolled in Jefferson County Community Action Council’s Head Start will be showing off their art work at the various program locations from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday.

The shows, which they’re calling “Visions of A Child’s Art Work,” will demonstrate straw-blown painting, paper mache, art easel painting, bubble art, goopy art, coffee filter art, feather painting and paper mache dinosaur eggs and several other techniques designed to reveal creativity through a child’s vision of learning. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to come and support the children’s work.

Head Start centers are located at 189 Hanna Ave., Adena; 587 Bantam Ridge Road, Wintersville; St. Anthony’s, 243 S. Seventh St., Steubenville; and 106 Grandview Ave., Tiltonsville.

Head Start staff will be available to assist parents and caregivers of 3- and 4-year-old children who wish to register for the program. Income verification will be needed.
