Rolling of the Scroll program

Sunday at Quinn Memorial

STEUBENVILLE — The Melinda Guy Women’s Missionary Society of Quinn Memorial AME Church will hold its Rolling of the Scroll program at 4 p.m. Sunday at the church, located at 515 North St.

As the scroll is rolled, the names of loved ones in memory or in honor of will be read. David Chester is the narrator, and Lisa Mason will serve as mistress of ceremonies. Also participating in the ceremony will be co-chairs Dolores Young and Ilana Chester; Soundra Palmer, who will give the prayer; Jacqueline Gibson, who will read the scripture; and Marge Monaco, Women’s Missionary Society president.

Delores Wiggins will perform a musical selection and provide music to accompany the singers. Soloists are Juliette Hamilton, Solomon “Doobie” Huffman, Tanesha Jenkins, Attilio Boni, Stanley Brown and Darrin Lamarr.

Gloria Crossland and Sherry Petteway are in charge of refreshments. The Rev. Reloy F. Gainey Sr. is the church’s pastor.

Missionaries to speak Sunday

at Weirton Heights church

WEIRTON — Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church, 121 Ivy St., will welcome missionaries Jacob and Jessi Schwertfeger to the worship service on Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m.

The couple will be bringing their message of how God is moving mightily through their mission work in Africa, a church spokesperson noted. An informal informational session will follow at 11 a.m. It is open to the public.

Annual Holiday Expo today,

Sunday at Greater Zion Temple

STEUBENVILLE — The fifth-annual Holiday Expo will be held today and Sunday at Greater Zion Temple Family Worship Center, located at 500 N. Fifth St.

The times are from noon to 6 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Vendors include Tina’s Crafts, Avon, H&R Block, K&K Customs, Diane’s Crochet, Pretty Little Things/Damsel in Distress, Glitter-Glam-Glasses, Debra’s Sweet Dreams Bouquets, McKenzie Enterprises, Dressing Like Da Bishop/Lady Dawkins Pound Cakes, Larry’s Coffee Bar/Jalil Harvey Productions, Thirty One Gifts, Gold Canyon Candles, Traci Lynn Fashion Jewelry and Elva’s Kitchen.

Lamb and chicken gyro

sale scheduled Tuesday

STEUBENVILLE — The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Philoptochos Society will have its next gyro sale on Tuesday at the church, located at 300 S. Fourth St., and there are two kinds — lamb and chicken.

The sales runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be gyros for $7 and chicken gyros for $8. There will be a 25 cent charge for extra tzatziki sauce. Also available are koulourakia (twist cookies) for $6 a dozen.

There is free delivery available for orders of four or more gyros. Orders may be phoned in to (740) 282-9835 the day of the sale or sent by Fax to (740) 282-2091. Patrons should allow a minimum of 20 minutes for phone and Fax orders. Walk-ins also are welcome.

Other sale dates are Jan. 8 and Feb. 12, the last one of the season.
