EGCC pays tribute to ‘50 by 50’ Scholarship Committee members

THANK YOU — Eastern Gateway Community College paid tribute to the “50 by 50” Scholarship Committee members for their successful campaign at the college’s recent 50th anniversary celebration. The committee was formed four years ago with the goal of achieving 50 $5,000 scholarships by 2018. STEUBENVILLE — Eastern Gateway Community College paid tribute to the “50 by 50” Scholarship Committee members for their successful campaign at the college’s recent 50th anniversary celebration. The committee was formed four years ago with the goal of achieving 50 $5,000 scholarships by 2018.

The group surpassed their goal with 56 scholarships.

Suzanne Kresser, committee chairperson, commented, “I am proud of the members of the committee for their willingness to assist the EGCC Foundation with this endeavor. Each scholarship will help students to realize their goals in education.”

She also expressed appreciation to the EGCC Foundation Board for its insight and leadership. Board members include Jim Baker, Scott Campbell, Rose Carter, Karen Conklin, Ed Florak, Greg Gett, Ed Hershey, David Lucido, the Rev. Lewis Macklin, Edward Littlejohn, Marc Stein, Nick Terezis and Linda Yanok.

Committee members include James Baber, EGCC President Jimmie Bruce, Amanda Coburn, Karen Conklin, David Lucido, Florak, Jody Glaub, Kresser, James McGrail III, Keith Murdock, Bob Phillipson, Rich Ranallo, Tony Salinski, Linda Slowikowski and Juanita Welsh.

The scholarships raised include: Burnadette Green Scholarship, Frank Dimit Scholarship, Hess Scholarship, Knox Family Scholarship, Linda Slowikowski Scholarship, M&M Hardware Scholarship, Meeks Family Scholarship, The Yanok Family Scholarship, Jasmine Baber Scholarship, Tri-State Financial Services Scholarship, Irene W.
