More than 1,000 participate in library’s summer reading club

STEUBENVILLE — More than a thousand people joined the Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Club this year at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County.

The grand prize winners, according to Jennifer Cesta, public relations coordinator, were:

— Ronnie Rinerman of the Toronto Branch, children’s super grand prize winner of four Kings Island tickets and four tickets to the Ohio State Fair;

— Angelica Kidd of the Adena Branch, teen grand prize winner, Beats Studio 3 wireless headphone; and

— Mary Lynn Lewis of the Toronto Branch, adult grand prize winner of Galaxy Tab A.

Upcoming programs and activities at the library system’s various locations include:

Children: Family Silly Story Hour on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Family movie on Thursday at 5 p.m. Call to find out what’s playing.

Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch, (740) 769-2090

Children: Babygarten. for parents with children birth to 2, will be held Thursday at 11:15 a.m. This is a lap-sit program that includes books, rhymes and songs and encourages children to love the library at an early age.

Adults and Teens: Tech Help on Wednesday will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn about library apps and how to download books and more from the library’s website to an electronic device. Call for a 15-minute appointment.

Teen Game Night on Wednesday runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Stop in to play games on Wii, Playstation and XBOX360.

Children: Back-to-school stories are on Monday, beginning at 11 a.m.
