Mary H. Weir Library offers

Thursday program by author

WEIRTON — The Mary H. Weir Public Library will present Sonny Fair introducing his novel — “This Bridge Tells No Tales” set in the Ohio Valley — at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Fair was born and raised on Wheeling Island and left school to join the Marine Corps, later obtaining a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. He lived in Los Angeles and in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains for decades before returning to Wheeling.

“Recognized as an accomplished novelist, he approaches his craft as an artist. He has written detective, fantasy, paranormal, historical, Los Angeles and Appalachia Noir, literary and toddler novels and has created stage plays and screenplays,” according to promotional material.

Three of his novels — “America’s Hellpath,” “A Freedom Fighter in a Time of Misadventure” and “Being What I’m Not” — have opening chapters set in the Tri-State Area.

Fair, who writes political blogs, was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and appeared on the big screen during a brief acting career and performed in a variety of stage plays in Los Angeles.

The evening event is free and open to the public.
