New Somerset UMC having

movie night on Saturday

TORONTO — New Somerset United Methodist Church, 4378 township Road 241, Toronto, off state Route 213, will be hosting a movie night Saturday, featuring “God’s Not Dead 2.”

Doors open at 5 p.m., and the movie starts at 6 p.m. Pizza will be available.

Troop 20 hosting breakfast,

pictures with Easter Bunny

RICHMOND — Boy Scout Troop 20 will host a pancake breakfast and pictures with the Easter Bunny from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Richmond United Methodist Church fellowship hall at 112 S. Sugar St.

The Scouts will be serving pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. Cost is by donation.

The Easter Bunny will be present and available for pictures. “We will be taking pictures to e-mail to you or feel free to bring your own camera or take pictures with your cell phone,” a troop spokesperson explained.

Event proceeds will help pay for Scout summer camp and other camps and activities.

Weir High Class of 1970 to hold ‘spring break’ meeting

WEIRTON — The Weir High School Class of 1970 will hold its “spring break” meeting beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mario’s Restaurant at 3806 Main St. All classmates and spouses are welcome to attend.

‘Crooked House’ to be shown

at Follansbee Branch Library

FOLLANSBEE — The Follansbee Branch Library will show the PG-13 film, “Crooked House,” based on the novel by Agatha Christie, at noon on Friday.

Tri-State Writers Society scheduled to meet March 13

STEUBENVILLE — The Tri-State Writers Society, led by award-winning local author Karina Garrison, will meet at 6 p.m. March 13 at BookMarx Bookstore, 181 N. Fourth St.

Questers chapter holds show and tell antiques program

STEUBENVILLE — Members of the Edwin M. Stanton, Chapter of Ohio Questers, held their February luncheon meeting at Scaffidi’s Restaurant.

Dona Fisher served as hostess.

President Becky Swickard presided at the meeting where she reminded members that dues are to be paid by the April meeting. New state officers were voted on with the slate accepted and approved as presented.

The spring council meeting will be held April 12-13 at the Zanesville Museum of Art.

After the meeting, a show and tell was held with members showing antiques and sharing stories about their history.

The next meeting will be a luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. March 22 at Froehlich’s Classic Corner in Steubenville. Members will take a tour of Urban Mission Ministries after it and are encouraged to bring extra bedding and canned goods to donate.
