Edwin M. Stanton Chapter of Questers tour Clark Gable museum in Cadiz

CADIZ — Barbara Anderson hosted the December meeting of the Edwin M. Stanton Chapter of Ohio Questers.

The group had lunch at Frank’s in Hopedale where President Becky Swickard presided for a brief business meeting and gave the blessing before lunch.

Anderson presented members with a homemade Christmas tree decoration.

After lunch, the group headed to Cadiz for a tour of the Clark Gable museum. The actor was born Feb. 1, 1901, at the same site, but a replica was built to replace the original home there, and everything was duplicated as at the time he lived there. Gable was 59 when he died Nov. 16, 1960.

One of the most memorable things was his 1954 powder blue Cadillac. The group was surprised to learn that Gable, who was 59 when he died Nov. 16, 1960, had been married five times.

Jayne Wilson and Becky Bryan will host the January meeting at the Wilson home.
