Mingo Woman’s Club has Christmas party, plans for Legislation Day

MINGO JUNCTION — Members of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Mingo held their Christmas party at Manfred’s Restaurant.

President Janet Petrella gave the welcome, and Mary Jane Tiberio gave the opening prayer.

A brief business meeting was held before the party.

Sharon Cole-Isner distributed information on the mystery theater dinner fundraiser that will be held April 21.

Discussion was held on District Legislation Day. The Mingo club will be hosting that event scheduled for March 17.

Petrella announced that a nominating committee will be selected in January, and a slate of officers will be presented in February.

Joanne Gorney reminded members about the due date for packages to be at the school. She also handed out See’s candy orders. Top sellers were Kathy Maguschak and Katie Grantonic.

Roetta Lewis reminded the members that club activities reports should be turned in during January. This is for reporting.

After dinner, Clara Sue Milewsky passed out sheets for the Christmas song quiz game. Winners were Joanne Gorney and Janet Petrella.

Stephanie Rouse was in charge of the Christmas multiple choice game. Winners were Roetta Lewis and Clara Sue Milewsky.

Stephanie Rouse was the winner of a special drawing.

A gift exchange was held.

Petrella expressed appreciation for the club members’ accomplishments in 2017.

The party was closed with the singing of “Silent Night” in a candlelight setting.
