Advent program Wednesday

at St. Joseph the Worker

WEIRTON — St. Joseph the Worker Church, 229 California Ave, will host an Advent program Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m.

It will be presented by the Franciscan Sisters T.O.R. of Steubenville.

The evening’s theme will be “It’s Advent: What Are You Waiting For?”

Refreshments will follow. All are welcome to attend.

WMC Auxiliary gift shop

announces dates of sales

WEIRTON — The Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary gift shop will hold a holiday and gift items sale from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 8.

Some exclusions will apply.

On Dec. 14 and 15 during the same time frame, the gift shop will hold a 20 percent off sale on holiday items, again with some exclusions applying.

Fundraiser dinner Sunday

at Jewett Fire Department

JEWETT — A baked steak and baked meatloaf dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Jewett Volunteer Fire Department.

The dinner includes a salad bar, bread, dessert and beverage.

The dinner cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children.

having meeting Wednesday

WEIRTON — The Weir High School class of 1970 will hold its Christmas meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mario’s Restaurant, 3806 Main St.

All classmates and spouses are welcome to attend.

Four Seasons Seniors

welcome new member

WEIRTON — The Four Seasons Seniors held their November meeting at Undo’s in Weirton with President Chris Sklenar presiding.

Tony LaRosa gave the opening prayer.

After dinner members enjoyed the music of Deja Vu.

The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read.

Josie Cekinovich reported 43 reservations.

New member Janet Stasiulewicz was welcomed.

Birthdays and anniversaries were acknowledged.

A report was given on cards sent and received.

Barb Cerra and Janet Panebianco won the 50-50 drawing.

Other prize winners were Fran Wenzel, Barb Cerra, Rick Sklenar, Betty Wamsley and Janet Panebianco.

The next meeting will be held Dec. 13.

Bloomingdale Christmas

tree to be decorated

BLOOMINGDALE — The village’s Christmas tree in front of the village building will be decorated on Saturday, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The public is invited to help decorate the tree, then join in singing Christmas carols through the village while riding on the back of a wagon.

Santa will be on hand in the basement of the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church where cookies and hot chocolate will be served.

Christmas dinner, dance

Dec. 15 at senior center

WEIRTON — A Christmas dinner and dance party will be held Dec. 15 at the Greater Weirton Senior Center located at 3425 Main St.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with the dinner served at 5:45 p.m.

The menu is rigatoni, salad, roll and dessert. Lite Touch will perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Tickets are $10 per person with reservations made by calling (304) 748-3490.

The event will include door prizes and a 50-50 drawing.

A photographer will be on hand to take pictures, with packages available for purchase.

Christmas concert, birthday

party for Jesus on Friday

PARIS, Pa. — A Christmas concert and birthday party for Jesus will be observed Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Gathering Place Coffee Shop at Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Paris (Burgettstown).

The evening of music will feature the Jimmy Z Trio.

Breakfast with Santa Dec. 16

at New Manchester VFD

NEW MANCHESTER — The New Manchester Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting “Breakfast with Santa” from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 16.

The cost is $5 per person for all-you-can-eat pancakes.

Guests are invited to bring their own cameras and take pictures with Santa Claus.

All proceeds will benefit the fire department.
