CHESTER — Marlene Flemming Murray, a member of the Chester Arts Club, has initiated the annual Christmas Angel Tree project for the W. Va. Veterans Home in Barboursville, W.Va.

President Joann Hobbs donated the Christmas tree while members decorated the tree with lights and gift tags.

The homes that accommodates 84 men and two women provides a residential environmental for veterans who may not have family or emotional support.

Cricksters Family Restaurant at 817 Carolina Ave., Chester, has again provided a location for the angel tree. “Several request tags remain available so that the general public can provide gifts for those who have protected and defended our country,” a spokesperson noted. Presents with tags can be returned to Cricksters during normal business hours, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

Presents will be picked up Dec. 15 and then delivered to Barboursville.
