Country Friends to host

Neon Knights, Smooth Country

COLLIERS — Country Friends will host George Kokos and the Neon Knights on Friday at the Memorial Hall located at 67 Police Lodge Road, Colliers.

The Smooth Country dance band will entertain on Saturday.

The doors open at 6 p.m., the program starts at 7 p.m., and the hall closes at 10 p.m. for both events. There is a $5 cover charge per person.

Monday will be open mic night. Doors open at 4 p.m.; the covered-dish meal is served at 5 p.m. with participants encouraged to bring a covered dish; and open mic begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. There is no cover charge on Mondays, but donations are appreciated.

Veterans satellite office

open Wednesday in Dillonvale

STEUBENVILLE — The satellite office of the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Dillonvale City Building, 135 School St., Dillonvale, to assist veterans, dependents of veterans, and/or veterans’ widows with Veterans Administration pensions, compensations, burials, schooling, medical assistance and other veteran benefits.

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed every Wednesday afternoon to the public.

Bake, book and soup sale set

for Saturday at St. Stephen’s

STEUBENVILLE — St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, located at 284 Lovers Lane, will host a bake, book and soup sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Baked goods will be priced as marked; books will sell three for $1; and soup will be available for $5 a pint or $8 per quart.

Proceeds will benefit the Women in Action Against Cancer Coalition and St. Stephen’s Church.
