Weir High Class of 1972 having reunion July 7-8

WEIRTON — The Weir High School Class of 1972 will hold its 45-year class reunion July 7-8 at the Holiday Inn in Weirton.

The icebreaker will be at Undo’s on July 7 with the dinner-dance July 8.

Although the committee has worked to locate all classmates, anyone who did not receive an invitation can contact Sharon Bogarad at (304) 797-0602 to make a reservation.

SHS Class of 1952 still seeking some classmates

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville High School Class of 1952 is finalizing plans for its 65-year class reunion celebration set for July 15 at Froehlich’s Classic Corner in Steubenville.

The committee is continuing its search for some classmates and directs inquiries to Lillian Ferguson at (740) 264-2232 or Jane Bigler at (740) 537-2893.

‘Music on the Deck’

at Burgettstown church

BURGETTSTOWN — “Music on the Deck” with Elvis — Robert Dale will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday at the Gathering Place Coffee Shop Dock, Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Paris (Burgettstown), Pa.

In the event of rain it will be held indoors.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs for an evening of music provided by Dale, an Elvis tribute artist who will sing a variety of the entertainer’s songs, from rock to gospel.

Brooke Library book club to meet Thursday

WELLSBURG — The Brooke County Public Library Book Club will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday to discuss “Witness at Hawks Nest” by Dwight Harshbarger.

Members will receive the July book, “Killing In The Hills” by Julia Keller. The club is free and open to the public.

Weirton Senior Center

notes July activities

WEIRTON — The Greater Weirton Senior Center has announced a number of July activities, including the following:

≤ Sands of Time dance, July 6, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m.

≤ Farmers’ market vouchers will be handed out to Hancock residents on July 11, 18 and 25.

≤ The Sands of Time Band will be holding a benefit dance on July 9, which will include a Chinese auction, a 50/50 drawing and a $2 Sing-a-Song with the band.

≤ Line dancing is at the center every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for anyone interested in participating.

≤ Light Touch will be at the center July 20 with dancing from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

≤ The center will be holding bingo July 21 in conjunction with the Hancock County Senior Center. Early bird will be at 6:30 p.m. with regular bingo beginning at 7 p.m.

Car, motorcycle show

scheduled for July 15

STEUBENVILLE — Pleasant Hills Community Days, featuring a car and motorcycle show, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. July 15 at Four Seasons Ministry, formerly the Pleasant Elementary School at 129 School St., Steubenville, on state Route 213.

It will feature food and drinks, dash plaques and door prizes.

New Cumberland Lions

having fundraiser

NEW CUMBERLAND — The New Cumberland Lions Club will have pulled pork available for take-out during the Chester 4th of July celebration.

The pulled pork sandwiches and drinks will be available beginning at 11 a.m. in front of the Greathouse Realty office in Chester. A pork sandwich is $5.50. Water and soda will be available for $1 a bottle/can.
