Bergholz Area Museum

opens Sunday for summer

BERGHOLZ — The Bergholz Area Museum located at 268 Second St. next to the Bergholz Diner, will open for the summer on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and feature Amsterdam memorabilia.

Many additional items have been donated through the winter for display, according to a news release. The museum’s permanent collection includes pictures and memorabilia related to area communities, schools, local mines and various businesses.

Admission is free. Following the May opening, the museum will be open the first Sunday of each month through November.

Quarter auction Sunday

to benefit cancer society

FOLLANSBEE — The Memories for Hope Relay for Life team will host a quarter auction Sunday at the Follansbee Community House, 1455 Park Lane, Follansbee.

All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Admission is $5, which includes one paddle. Additional paddles will be available for $1.

Doors open at noon, and the auction starts at 1 p.m.

There will be more than 20 vendors and crafters, and concessions also will be available.

Tickets are available through relay team members, vendors and at the door.

‘Spring Fling’ salad luncheon

Saturday at Quinn A.M.E.

STEUBENVILLE — The Melinda Guy Women’s Missionary Society of Quinn Memorial A.M.E. Church, 515 North St. in Steubenville, will hold a “Spring Fling” salad luncheon Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.

The menu will consist of a variety of salads, dessert and beverage for a $10 donation. Pies and cakes also will be available for separate purchase.

The event will feature songs by soloist Cheyenne Smith of Steubenville. Marge Monaco is president of the Melinda Guy Women’s Missionary Society. The Rev. Raymond J. Mickens is the host pastor.

Country Friends to host Moon Lite Special band Saturday

COLLIERS — Country Friends will host Robbie Freshour and his Moon Lite Special band at the Colliers Memorial Hall located at 67 Police Lodge Road.

The doors open at 6 p.m. The dance starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.

There is a $5 donation per person.
