Moving On to meet Sunday

for Christmas gathering

WEIRTON — Moving On, a group for widows and widowers, will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday at Undo’s in Weirton.

Members are reminded to bring a Christmas card and a $5 item for the gift exchange.

At the Nov. 13 meeting at Undo’s, President Lucretia “Toots” Ross welcomed the members, and Nancy Sollinger led the members in singing.

Fred Vogt gave the opening and closing prayer along with a reading titled “The Simple Story.”

Birthdays for November were acknowledged with a candy bar and the singing of “Happy Birthday.”

The tables were decorated with various figurines and solar lights. They were donated by Margaret Chapman, Betty Ann Jeffries, Richard Kimmel, Helen Parrish and Nancy Smurda.

Rick Pastre played the accordion and provided entertainment.

David Kramarich and Ross conducted the 50-50 drawing won by Edna Bain. Ross won the Undo’s gift certificate.

Table prizes were won by Richard Kimmel, Katy Rosohav, Fred Vogt and Nancy Sollinger. Other prizes were won by Mary Vraninin, Katy Rosohac, Fred Vogt, Edna Bain, Ann Zmurda, Becky Michalka and Jim Boulson.

Reports were given by Margaret Chapman and Ross.

Three Arts Club meeting to include singers and auction

TORONTO — The Three Arts Club will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Riverview United Methodist Church on North River Avenue, Toronto.

The Sonshine Singers will perform. Members of the club will conduct a Chinese auction, “Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It.”

There will be no meetings held in January and February.

Sands of Time to perform

Saturday at Country Friends

COLLIERS — Country Friends has announced that the Sands of Time band will entertain Saturday at Memorial Hall located at 67 Old Police Lodge Road in Colliers.

The doors open at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and the dance starts at 7 p.m. Mondays and Fridays are open mic, and the last Friday of the month is Gospel Night with a donation given to a church or charity. The doors open at 4 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m. Participants should bring a covered dish for the meal which begins at 5 p.m. Country Friends Foundations is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christian friendship and brotherly love through music. Four Seasons Seniors are

scheduled to meet Dec. 14

WEIRTON — President Chris Sklenar presided at  the November Four Seasons Seniors meeting at Undo’s. Tony LaRosa gave the opening prayer.

Victoria Gurst, a Weirton Medical Center nurse, entertained with a selection of Broadway standards.

The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read.  Reservations Chair Josie Cekinovich reported there were 58 reservations, and President Chris Sklenar announced all officers would return for another term. Members observed November birthdays and anniversaries. Gene Viola and Rich Sklenar won the 50/50 drawing. Norma Yoho, Martha Varitek, Jane Barney and Art Chappell also won prizes.

The next meeting will be held Dec. 14, and Dave and Shari Jo Watson will entertain.

Computer job help offered

FOLLANSBEE — The Follansbee Branch Library will offer computer help with resumes and online job applications from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Help will be provided by library employee Natalie Staffileno. Call (304) 527-0860 to register for the free class.

Story hours Dec. 12 and 19

FOLLANSBEE — The Follansbee Branch Library will hold story hours for children, ages 2-5, and their caregivers at noon Dec. 12 and 19.
