STEUBENVILLE — Breast cancer survivor Tammy Smedley of the Bloomingdale area will share her breast cancer survivor story as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Wreath Ceremony that will be held from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. tonight in the Kay Corabi Community Room next to Manfred’s on Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville.

The 20th-annual ceremony, which is open to the public, is sponsored by the Women in Action Against Cancer Coalition of Jefferson County. It is a celebration and remembrance of those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

The wreath ceremony program begins at 6 p.m. with a prayer by Joyce Somers and the singing of the national anthem by Thomas Graham, county commissioner, who also will offer a musical selection. Judy Manfred, WIAACC chairman, will give the welcome.

Graham also will read the Ohio Mamography Day proclamation, and a Steubenville city councilman will read a city council resolution.

Linda Bain will offer an overview of WIAACC, and Alexis Smith, a Jefferson County breast cancer update.

Marlene Lesnansky will introduce breast cancer survivors and present a special gift. Janet Sharpe will offer closing remarks.

There will be numerous displays to see, and after the ceremony a free spaghetti dinner at Manfred’s Gastropub. For information, contact Janet at (740) 264-2428 or Judy at (740) 264-2710.
