Bergholz Area Museum

open Sunday afternoon

BERGHOLZ — The Bergholz Area Museum will be open from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday with the featured display being the George and Crabs family history provided by Anna Marie Crim and Floy Fetty and a collection of Mooretown memorabilia.

The museum’s permanent collection includes pictures and memorabilia related to area communities, schools, local mines and various businesses.

The museum is open May through November on the first Sunday of the month from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Moon Lite Special Band

at Country Friends Saturday

COLLIERS — Country Friends will host the Moon Lite Special Band Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 67 Police Lodge Road. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance starts at 7 p.m.

Mondays and Fridays are covered-dish dinners and open mic nights. The last Friday of each month is Gospel Night, and a donation is made to a local church or charity.

The doors open at 4 p.m., the meal begins at 5 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m.

Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christian friendship and brotherly love through music. All proceeds go to charity.

Lupus support group

meeting set for Monday

STEUBENVILLE — The Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter, will host its monthly lupus support group from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hampton Inn, 820 University Blvd.

The support group is an open, small-group environment that encourages discussion among lupus patients and their families. It is a place where people with lupus can share their experiences and ask questions.

Most discussions focus on the “how-to’s” of living with a chronic illness. It is a safe place for people to learn, share and help, according to a news release.

Individual differences and confidentiality are respected.

Satellite veterans office to be open Wednesday in Dillonvale

STEUBENVILLE — The satellite office of the Jefferson County Veterans Service Commission will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Dillonvale City Building, 135 School St., Dillonvale, to assist veterans, dependents of veterans and/or veterans’ widows with Veterans Administration  pensions, compensations, burials, schooling, medical assistance and other veterans’ benefits.

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is closed every Wednesday afternoon to the public.
