Fidelis Gamma Chapter plans dinner

WEIRTON – The regular meeting of the Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met at Williams Country Club Aug. 7 with 16 members present.

President Carolyn Allison presided and gave welcoming remarks

Patty McCullough chose “Words” as the topic of her devotions. She read the poem “Living with Dragons” and led the group in prayer.

Allison presented “fun facts” about the group game telephone, also known as gossip. Members then participated in a game.

Reports were given by Anne Ford and Martha Everly.

Ruth Fuller discussed the upcoming leadership conference in Flatwoods.

Liz Pugh announced plans are continuing for ADK month.

Pat Accettolo reported on voting for the World Understanding Project.

Jerry DeFilippo took personal item packets to the Lighthouse in Weirton and crayons, coloring books, and magazines to the Weirton Medical Center.

Janet Benzo reported that the chapter by-laws were approved.

Carol Hendon discussed the final plans for the Dec. 4 Tri-Chapter Christmas and 25th anniversary dinner. DeFilippo reported on the Southeast Regional Conference that she attended in July.

Members approved a motion to use Betty Shaw’s donation for altruism projects, shared comments and concerns and sang “The Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa.”

Jerry DeFilippo, JoAnn Kerr and Betty Shaw were hostesses and decorated tables with tea pots, tea bags and candy.

The next meeting will be held Sept. 4 at the country club.
