Entry deadline extended for Mingo pageant
Time is running out for “Little Princesses” and “Little Chiefs” to step forward.
The deadline for entries into the Little Princess Aracoma and Little Chief Logan Pageant – part of festivities Aug. 9 for the upcoming Mingo Junction Community Days on Aug. 8-10 – has been extended to Saturday.
The pageant is sponsored by the GFWC Woman’s Club of Mingo Junction, and the winners will be chosen immediately following the 1 p.m. parade.
Rules and guidelines include the following:
Costumes are preferred;
Pupils must reside in Mingo Junction or attend Hills Elementary School/Indian Creek Middle School, grades kindergarten through second and third through fifth;
All entry forms must be signed by the pupil’s parent;
All entries become the property of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Mingo Junction;
No late entries will be accepted after Saturday;
All contestants will participate in the parade, which begins at 1 p.m. at Orin’s Auto;
All contestants need to arrive 30 minutes before the parade begins;
The winners will be chosen by drawing the odd-colored article; and
All contestants will receive a certificate of participation, while the winners will receive a trophy and crown/headdress.
