Country Classics

The Country Classics 4-H Club met at the Steubenville Saddle Club in Richmond with Allison Lamantia presiding. There were 37 members present.

Chris Molinaro is the club fundraiser adviser. Members with fundraiser ideas should give their suggestions to her.

Marlene Lamantia is in charge of club T-shirts and noted that orders need to be turned in as soon as possible.

Members participating in the Jefferson County equine team were congratulated for their achievements in at the state Hippology Contest on June 16.

The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on July 16 at the saddle club.

Purple Circle

The Purple Circle 4-H Club approved donating money toward project-judging day awards and making turkey for sandwiches for the buyers picnic at intermission of the Jefferson County Junior Fair auction.

The meeting at the Richmond United Methodist Church also included planning for the fair booth, judging day and community service projects.

A booth committee was formed for decorating an area in the Junior Fair building on the fairgrounds for the Aug. 11-17 fair.

Future plans include cleaning the barns, planting a flower bed, preparing the turkey for the buyers picnic and making plans for participating in the fair parade.

The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on July 20 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
