Nifty Needles sewing guild welcomes new member
The Nifty Needles neighborhood group of the American Sewing Guild recently met at the First Christian Church located on Main Street, Weirton.
Leader Nancy Sanders welcomed new member Marcie Cooper of Yorkville. Sanders announced the Pittsburgh Sewing Expo will be held in August.
There will be a field trip to Teresa’s Fabrics in Moundsville in June. It will include lunch.
During show-and-tell, Cooper displayed a crocheted tote and backpack; Middie Fresse, a fidget blanket for Alzheimer’s patients; Dale Negle, a quilted and embroidered wall hanging; and Nancy Linn, two heirloom baby sun suits she plans to alter for her granddaughter.
Linn presented a program on an open-leaf design table runner. She gave each member a pattern and template to take home.
The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. July 1 at the church. Negle will present the program. For information, contact Sanders at (304) 527-1405.
