Lupus support group to meet

The Lupus Optimum Health Support Group will meet from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Hampton Inn, 820 University Blvd., Steubenville.

It will include speakers, announcements and refreshments. The outreach program’s line dancing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 21.

CCHS class plans for June reunion

The Steubenville Catholic Central High School Class of 1964 will hold a planning meeting at 7 p.m. April 15 at Lancelot’s Restaurant in Wintersville to discuss it 50-year reunion to be held June 13-14 at the Steubenville Country Club.

SHS Class of 1974 plans reunion

The Steubenville High School Class of 1974 will hold its 40-year class reunion the weekend of Sept. 19-20.

The reunion festivities will begin Sept. 19 with classmates attending the Big Red/Brooke football game followed by an ice breaker at Scaffidi’s Restaurant and Tavern. A dinner/dance will be held Sept. 20 at Froehlich’s Classic Corner.

Classmates who have not been notified or know of someone who has not been contacted should forward the address to SHS Class of ’74, 515 Westwood Drive, Steubenville, OH 43953.

SERO Chapter meeting scheduled

The next meeting of School Employee Retirees of Ohio Chapter 33, which encompasses Jefferson, Belmont, Harrison, Guernsey and Monroe counties, will meet at 10 a.m. on April 16 in the meeting room of the Schiappa branch of the Public Library of Steubenville.

The meetings keep members up to date on issues affecting the organization, pensions and health insurance, according to a news release.

The guest speaker will be Joyce Degenhardt, a registered nurse who works in home health with senior citizens. She will provide information on keeping healthy and safe during the aging process.

Lenten luncheons at Zion United

Zion United Church of Christ, 139 N. Fifth St., Steubenville, will host a soup and sandwich luncheon on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The menu will feature wedding soup, $2; a salad bar, $4; a soup and each $2; Jell-o salad, $1; choice of dessert, $1; chips, 50 cents; and beverage, 50 cents.

Three Score Seniors meet

President Marlene Hare presided at the March meeting of Three Score Seniors where Tony LaRosa gave the invocation and benediction.

Program Chair Brenda Edwards introduced Friends, a contemporary Christian vocal group as entertainment for the evening.

Reservation Chair Vivian Weigel reported 96 members and five guests were in attendance. Guests included Millie Mercer, guest of Kathy McCarrick; Bob and Jane Watson, guests of Brenda Edwards; Gloria Suchko, guest of Barbara Pete; and Marian Lucas, guest of Diana Crago.

Historian Lee Edwards put out albums from the 1990s for viewing. Hospitality Chair Jim Hare gave prizes to Mary Ann Tassey, Reg Dietz, Al Daugherty and Irene Troia. Jack Cummings and Sonny Marino awarded the 50/25/25 drawing to Al Daugherty, who had both winning tickets. Betty Virtue and Pat Delekta awarded the Undo’s dinners to Vivian Weigel and Sonny Marino.
