WMC auxiliary plans volunteer appreciation dinner

WEIRTON – President Sondra Weigel called a recent Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary meeting to order in the Starvaggi boardroom, followed by the 17 members in attendance joining in opening ceremonies.

Reports were given by Recording Secretary Elda Weekley and Treasurer Paula Billick.

Auxiliary chairs gave the following reports: Phil Troia, clergy; John Patton, coffee cart; Domenica Malloy, reporting for Barbara Visnic, gift cart; Jeannie Duffy, gift shop; Barbara Cameron and Barbara Tunno, information/surgical desk; Elda Weekley, reporting for Peg Barber, mail; Beth DiGregorio, surgical desk escorts; Jennie Fetty and Domenica Malloy, telephone; and Margaret Patton, volunteers. Giving special reports were: Flo Jonczak, birth certificates; Grace Lenhart, historian; Vivian Weigel, gift shop committee; and Alma Wansack, Remembrance Fund.

Weigel, hours chair, reported the top three volunteens for the third quarter were: Kelly Lemasters, 44 hours; Haley Kirkbride, 40 ; and Sydney Stewart, 39. The total hours volunteered during the third quarter were 409.5.

Top 10 volunteers for third quarter were: Sondra Weigel, 220.5; Paula Billick, 154.5; Elda Weekley, 154.5; Pat Guerrera, 134; Augie DiGerolomo, 132; Barbara Visnic, 100.5; Vivian Weigel, 97.5; Jeannie Duffy, 97; Marilyn Hinchee, 95.5; and Dolores Szymanski, 94.5. The total hours for third quarter were 3,078.

The volunteer appreciation dinner will be held April 8, with the social hour beginning at 5 p.m. and dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. Those attending are asked to make a reservation by calling (304) 797-6092 no later than April 1.

An orientation was held recently with one new volunteer, Kathy Culler, and one volunteen, Mia Antione. Jeannie Duffy will chair the Volunteer of Year Committee with Barbara Cameron as co-chair.

Approval was given for Weigel, and Gift Shop manager Roberta Ziemer to attend the Gift Mart in Columbus.

Four auxiliary members will attend the spring workshop May 12-14 at the Stonewall Jackson Resort.
