Wintersville Baptist marking its 50th on Sunday
The 50th anniversary celebration of Wintersville Baptist Church will be marked Sunday with events getting under way at 10 a.m. with a continental breakfast.
The Rev. Ralph Wingate Sr., who served as the church’s pastor for 13 years, will share how the church began on Easter Sunday 1964.
The 11 a.m. service will fature special music and prechaing by the Rev. Ralph Wingate Jr., who was the first assistant pastor for his father in 1964. He went on to pastor in Normal, Ill., recently retiring after 25 years.
Church family time will be observed beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday. Pastors, missionaries, evangelists and church members “who have received a blessing from Wintersville Baptist Temple ministry are encouraged to attend,” according to a news release.
It will include special gospel music and a message by the Rev. Ralph Wingate Jr. The evening service will be followed by a time of fellowship, refreshments and reminiscing.
