Library system lists variety of upcoming programs

Upcoming programs at the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County include the following:

— The Adena Branch will meet for its book club on March 17 at 5:30 p.m. This month’s book is “Black Damp Century” by Kerry George. The author will join the library’s discussion. Participate by calling the library at (740) 546-3782.

— Teen Tech Week, is being observed through Saturday. The library will have a prize drawing for teens this week. Teens can take the stage for Teen Karaoke at the Schiappa branch at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

— Children can make and take a craft at the main library on Thursday anytime; the Adena branch today at 5:30 p.m. and also at the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant branch on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

— Tech Help is on the way for those who want to learn how to download free eBooks, audiobooks, music and videos from the library’s website to their electronic device. Schedule a 15-minute appointment for Wednesday any time from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. by calling the Schiappa branch at (740) 264-6166.

— Cookbook Club will eat and discuss at the Schiappa branch Tuesday at 11 a.m. and at the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant Branch on Thursday at 5 p.m. Participants bring in a covered dish from cookbooks selected by the library. Join them by calling the library branch at 264-6166 and the Dillonvale-Mt. Pleasant Branch’s club at 769-2090.

— A bubble art program for children will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Brilliant Branch.

— Book club for the Tiltonsville branch and Toronto branch will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Join by calling the Tiltonsville branch at (740) 859-5163 and the Toronto branch at (740) 537-1262.

— A family movie for the Brilliant branch will be shown on March 15 at noon.

— Play and Learn (caregiver and children ages birth to 3) will be at the Schiappa branch on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and at 6 p.m. No registration is required.
