Attention, newly licensed drivers

Attention newly licensed drivers – the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles wants to hear from you.

The BMV is launching a new contest titled “I Hold the Key to a Safer Ohio.”

Just send the BMV a photo of you with your car keys right after you get your license, along with a brief summary of how you will “Hold the Key to a Safer Ohio” by committing to drive safe. E-mail the photo and summary to and you could be featured on BMV’s Facebook page, BMV’s official website and in the Deputy Registrars across the state. Winners will be selected quarterly and receive a special keychain.

Last year, there were nearly 157,000 first-issuance licenses (ages 15-17 years old) in Ohio. The contest is designed to encourage new drivers to commit to driving safely, which will in turn contribute to a safer Ohio, according to a news release. For information, log onto
