Country Rangers

Officers were elected at the January meeting of the Country Rangers 4-H Club, with Marissa Lucci named president. Other officers are C.J. Glenn, vice president; Sam Glenn, secretary; Heaven Vojvodich, treasurer; August Glenn and Libby Hall, health and safety; Kilee Jackfert, reporter; and Shay Davis, recreation officer.

The meeting was held at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School, with Lucci and Carl Glenn presiding.

Bylaws were read and adopted as part of the charter, and plans were made to decorate a window for Ohio 4-H Week and to participate in the Iron Chef Cooking Contest.

The next meeting will be held Feb. 20 at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School.

Sunrise Lads and Lassies

The Sunrise Lads and Lassies met at the home of Debbie Hopkins in Bloomingdale. There were seven members present.

Miranda Gordon was in charge of the meeting. The Walk Across Ohio project was discussed, and members will be making candy baskets for residents of the Dixon Nursing Home for Easter treats.

Still projects were discussed along with hatch dates and still projects.

The color of the club T-shirts for the Jefferson County Fair and to show together as members were discussed. Four new 4-H members were welcomed.

Future plans include the quality assurance, skillathon and the state fair.

The Feb. 23 meeting will be held at the Gordon home in Bloomingdale, beginning at 2 p.m.
