Dolls for Democracy new library display

“Dolls For Democracy” were donated to the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County from the former Temple Beth Israel of Steubenville before its closing.

The dolls will be on display at the Brilliant branch library until February, then travel to the library system’s branches located throughout the county.

The Tiltonsville and Toronto branches’ book clubs will meet on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Join by calling the Toronto branch at (740) 537-1262 and the Tiltonsville branch at (740) 859-5163.

Enjoy Coffee, Doughnuts and a Movie at the Tiltonsville branch on Dec. 13 at 10 a.m.

Children can make a Christmas craft at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Tiltonsville branch.

Story Hour (for parent and children ages 2-6) will be at the Toronto branch on Dec. 12 at 5 p.m.

Story Time (children ages 4-6) will be held at the Adena branch on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Register by calling the library branch at (740) 546-3782.

Teens will have fun at Christmas karaoke on Dec. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Schiappa branch. Stop in to sing or watch others take the stage.

Play and Learn (parent and children ages birth to three) will be at the Schiappa branch on Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. and at 6 p.m. The hour-long play session encourages children to love the library from a young age.

Cookbook club for the Dillonvale-Mount Pleasant branch will be held Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. Choose and make a recipe from selected cookbooks to taste and discuss with the group. Join by calling the library branch at (740) 769-2090.

A movie will be shown at the Brilliant branch at noon on Dec. 14 and at the main library on Dec. 14 at 2:30 p.m.

Now when patrons check out a book at library branches they can enter for a chance to win tickets for the Wheeling Nailers hockey games in the months of December, January, and February.

There is one entry per person, per visit. The first tickets to be given away are for the hockey game on Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. Drawing tickets for this game will be held Dec. 16.
