Rick Bear Memorial Golf Outing scheduled for Sept. 21

The second-annual Rick Bear Memorial Golf Outing will be held Sept. 21 at the Cadiz Country Club.

The cost for the four-man scramble is $60 per player or $240 per team with mulligans included. There will be proximity prizes. Payment is due the day of the outing.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Hot dogs and beverages will be served at the turn with dinner afterwards.

Cash prizes will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place finishers.

For information, contact Adam Bear at (740) 391-3074.

All proceeds will benefit the Harrison County Little League Baseball Association.

The event was held last year in honor of Rick Bear, “a loving husband, father and grandfather who lost a year-long battle to lung cancer. Those who knew Rick would be able to tell you what an amazing person he was. He dedicated his life to his family and to the community,” a news release notes.

The first golf outing attracted more than 100 golfers and generated money for the local youth Little League baseball teams to improve their game and practice facilities.

Hole sponsorships of $50 continue to be accepted as are additional donations to offset expenses.

Donations can be made payable to the Rick Bear Memorial Golf Outing and mailed to Adam Bear, 33870 Akron Boat Club Road, Piedmont, OH 43983.
