First United Presbyterian, Mingo

First United Presbyterian Church of Mingo Junction will hold vacation Bible school July 15-19 from 6 p.m till 8:30 p.m

The theme this year is “Son West Round Up.”

Children ages prekindergarten through the sixth grade are welcome to attend.

Wintersville United Methodist Church

Wintersville United Methodist Church, 702 Main St., Wintersville, will host its vacation Bible school from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on July 8-12.

“Christmas in July” is the theme for the outreach open to children age 4 through the eighth grade.

The event will include music, interactive Bible time, activities, hands-on crafts, snacks and m motivation for mission and service. For nearly 10 years, the VBS program has attracted more than 200 children and involved 70 to 80 adults and teen helpers.

Vacation Bible Schools

Colonial Baptist Church

Colonial Baptist Church, 201 Gumps Lane, Wintersville, will be holding its annual vacation Bible school on Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

This year’s program is called “Kingdom Chronicles – The Armor of God.”

In addition to the lessons and skits, there will be crafts, games and snacks each day.

Grace Lutheran Church

Grace Lutheran Church, 2015 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, will host Vacation Bible School from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Friday. It will be for children ages 4 to 12 with the theme being “Kingdom Rock.”

It will include Bible-learning activities, songs, treats and epic Bible adventures.

A group mission project will be selected, and participants will discover how to see evidence of “God sightings” in everyday life.

Hill Top Presbyterian

Hill Top Presbyterian Church on county Road 46, Toronto, will host a vacation Bible school on July 11 and 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The theme is “Everywhere Fun Fair – Where God’s World Comes Together.” Classes are offered for pre-school through junior high.

There will be Bible study, music, crafts, snacks, games and a lunch provided at noon. “Children in the community are invited to attend this special two-day event,” a church spokesperson said.

Registration will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on July 11.

Smithfield Community

The Smithfield Community Vacation Bible School program will be held July 16-18 at the Piney Fork Presbyterian Church.

It will be held for youth through eighth grade.

All the churches in the Smithfield area are to be involved in the production of the program. Tents will be erected on July 15 for the tent village that comprises the event.

Darla Hannen and Pastor Wilford Simeral are in charge of the event.

LaBelle View Church of Christ

LaBelle View Church of Christ will host a vacation Bible school July 14-18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with registration at 5:30 p.m. on July 14. It is open to children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

The church is located on the corner of Ohio Street and Euclid Avenue in Steubenville. To ride the van on Sunday, call (740) 282-1083 before 4 p.m.

Vacation Bible Schools

Hooverson Heights Nazarene

Hooverson Heights Nazarene Church at Second Street and Lee Road, Follansbee, will hold a vacation Bible school from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

It’s open to ages 5-13, and participants are encouraged to bring a friend.

Rayland United Methodist Church

Rayland United Methodist Church will present its vacation Bible school the week of June 24-28 at the church. It will be held nightly from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Marland Heights Community Church

Marland Heights Community Church, 3900 Brightway, Weirton, will hold its annual vacation Bible school beginning June 17 and ending with a hot dog picnic on June 21.

Calvary Road Baptist Church of Chesapeake, Va., will conduct the VBS for children and adults from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The theme for the children will be “Colossial Coasters – Facing Your Fears,” and the the theme for adults will be “The Eight Things Christians Should Know.”

The event will include lessons, crafts, activities, music and snacks.

Richmond United Methodist

Richmond United Methodist Church will host vacation Bible school at the church located on Sugar Street from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on July 21-25.

The kickoff on July 21 will include free food, pony rides, games, crafts and music.

Colliers United Methodist

Colliers United Methodist Church is holding a vacation Bible school, for ages 4 and up, June 17-21.

The theme is “Kingdom Rock: Where Kids Stand Strong For God.”

Activities will include Bible stories, science experiments, games and songs. The free program will begin each day at 5:30 p.m. with a light dinner served for participants and parents, and activities from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The children will present a program June 23, and all parents are welcome to attend.

The church is at 318 Pennsylvania Ave. (Harmon Creek Road) across from the Colliers Post Office.

Dillonvale Presbyterian

Community vacation Bible school will be held at the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church on June 17-20 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“Armor of God” will be the theme this year. Breakfast will be served daily. Children ages 3 through teen years are welcome.

New Cumberland Nazarene

The New Cumberland Nazarene will hold a vacation Bible school, “Custom Garage” for children in pre-kindergarten through 12 years old from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 17-21 at the church’s Family Life Center located at state Route 8 and Washington School Road.

North River Avenue Christian

The North River Avenue Christian Church will host a circus-themed vacation Bible school the week of July 15-19 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Classes include: Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, first and second, third and fourth and fifth and sixth. There will be games, food, music and crafts.
