Harrison Community Hospital honors its volunteers, auxilians
National Healthcare Volunteer Week was celebrated the week of April 28 at Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz in recognition of the support that volunteers and auxilians provide to hospital staff, their patients, family members and the community.
Volunteers serve in many departments at the hospital, including radiology, physical therapy, medical records, laboratory, nursing and dietary. Volunteers also work in the gift shop, which provides revenue to help support the programs of the volunteer services and the auxiliary.
Acknowledged were Erma Stoica, Lester Scott, Bettie Ann Scott, Sue Rutter, Karen Reichenbach, Jodie Pileggi, Margaret Mosser, Bernadine Leone, Roberta Hosler, Rhonda Heaston, Janice Hasley, Linda Gooding, Dick Gooding, Pat Galbraith, Myrna Cline, Ruth Blackburn, Martha Betts and Helen Bass-Smith. Also recognized were auxiliary officers Anita Coultrap, president; Joyce Klingler, vice president; Erma Stoica, secretary; and Martha Betts, treasurer.
Clifford Harmon, CEO at Harrison Community Hospital, said, “We appreciate all of the many hours our volunteers donate so willingly to provide assistance with filing, answering the phone, transporting patients, etc. We are so grateful and appreciative of the hard work of our auxiliary members. The fundraisers they conduct throughout the year through book sales, style shows, bake sales, poker runs and uniform sales help the hospital purchase much needed medical equipment and furnishings.”
